Ellie Krieger reminded me the other day of the importance of changing up your eating habits. If you get into food ruts where you eat the same things over and over, you feel more of a need to indulge during other meals. As someone who has eaten the same breakfast everyday for a year, I took this advice to heart.
So this morning, in addition to the protein shake that my blood sugar requires I drink, I switched out the usual Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Bread with peanut butter for some Banana Bread in a Bowl, a la Chocolate Covered Katie.
I used almond milk to add a little sweetness where she recommends any non-dairy milk (although dairy will work if you eat dairy, it’s generally less fattening to use non-dairy). I also used a pretty ripe banana to add sweetness, as well. Heaven. In a bowl.
It only took 3 minutes, and I have leftovers for a snack later.
Try it one morning. A-ma-zing.
