I feel like I’m writing a lot about food I get elsewhere lately and not much about what I cook. I guess that’s the problem with travelling so much. At least I’m in my own time zone this weekend.
John and I headed to Greenville, SC last night to finalize our wedding menu this morning and to get our marriage license this afternoon. So for the weekend, I’ll be chronicling my culinary adventures outside of my own kitchen. I promise to cook again next week and am excited to say that I will be spending next weekend at home with my dogs, not leaving them with a sitter at the house. Again. It’s a good thing they love him or they might revolt at this point.
After an outstanding culinary adventure for lunch – a huge catering tasting to finalize the AMAZING food that will be at our wedding in 5 weeks, we got our marriage license, hung out downtown, and had some delicious frozen yogurt!
Okay, so it’s not ice cream, it’s froyo, but it’s better than ice cream and not unhealthy! Amazing. We ventured into a local Greenville spot called Blueberry Frog, expecting one of the run-of-the-mill yogurt places that seem to be popping up everywhere. Oh, were we pleasantly surprised!
Turns out Blueberry Frog specializes in natural, organic frozen yogurt with live probiotic cultures and no sugar added. For toppings, fresh fruit. They had some candy, cereal, and granola, but we just went the straight-up fruit route and it was perfect.
John had the plain yogurt, which was the best if you like the somewhat tart taste of yogurt without sugar (turns out we both love it!) with mangoes, blackberries, and blueberries.
I kind of want some right now. Perhaps with rasberries and kiwi. Yummy!
